Love this place, especially during happy hour. Really like the sticky rice, the Vietnamese spring rolls, the shrimp dumplings and the shrimp spring rolls. But the absolute BEST!!! Thing on the menu is the golden dumpling, this desert will change your life for the better.

Stumbled upon this place as we walked around downtown Winnipeg. Noticed their big sign saying Dim Sum happy hour started at 2 PM. We decided to go check it out.
Service was good and most of the staff were friendly. Language barrier was an issue when trying to order stuff.
During happy hour all dim sum is 2.70 (Canadian) a dish. We ordered a variety of stuff. From Curry squid to coconut buns. Bean curd wrap and spring rolls. Food was OK, about par for the course. We'd like to come back and try more stuff. -

Went to Sum Po for some evening dim sum, which is actually a concept that's rare where I used to live in Markham. Knowing that I have to lower my standards a bit, I used this place to evaluate the potential of dim sum in Winnipeg.
I ordered the staple dim sum items, such as shrimp dumpling, beef tripe, beef balls, curry squid, beef rice rolls, and shao mai.
Overall the food was okay; there were some that I liked such as beef tripe and beef balls. The others were definitely a step below what I'm used to, but they were at least edible.
Service was good; we were well attended to the entire time and the hospitality was there for all other customers as well.
I'll likely explore more places, but Sum Po isn't terrible at all for dim sum.
